Shawk Parson
☼ born 16 May 1958 in the small south-western harbor town of Khoramshahr by the Karoon River, Khuzistan province, Iran
♦ lived & raised in the capital city of Tehran, Iran, since the age of 10
♦ studied Interior Design & Decoration in an art/technical school, 1974~1976, Tehran, Iran (equivalent to high school diploma)
♦ learned English language as well as attended a Foundation of Art course in a couple of colleges, UK, 1978~1980
♦ migrated to the USA in the year 2000 (currently residing close to the lovely Old Town Tustin, Orange County, California)
♦ took various college courses and classes in the USA, 2010~2012, including Photoshop, InDesign, Publisher, A+ (computer hardware / software installation & troubleshooting) plus Introduction To Networking, MicroSoft Server 2008 as well as other IT-related and photography / graphics courses ... planning to attend more classes in the future too
♦ fields of activity, both as a hobby as well as professionally since the mid 1970s: photography (studio / field, plus darkroom & digital) / film cameraman (8 & 16mm) / video (camera, edit, direction) / graphics (manual tools & digital) / computer animation & CGI (2D & 3D, mostly old school but planning to explore modern software too) / multimedia & IT / teaching, mentoring & tutoring / some small acting roles & behind the scenes activity + musical composition & performances in award winning movies / ...
♦ also worked as draftsman (and photographer / video cameraman) in architectural and urban planning fields for various major firms in Iran back in the 1980s and later as assistant to some people in light remodeling & construction projects in the USA in the early 2000s (planning to restart some new activity in that area just as well, if age and other work related limitations permit!)
♦ have also taught English language, computer operation, graphics etc in Iran, 1990s, and done quite a number of small and big translation jobs (including a few novel books) since the 1980s
* my original name is Shahbaz Parsipour; in Persian, Shahbaz simply means 'falcon' and Parsipour means 'son of Persia'. my Anglicized name, Shawk Person, means basically the same thing although Shawk is a made up name rather than real.
